Quiet Senior Seeks Forever Home: Olga is a beautiful, 12-year-old Bernese mountain dog/lab mix of 97 lbs. who came to a locals shelter 3 years ago from a bad situation down south and is now at a NYC boarding facility. She suffered greatly from neglect and had to fight to defend herself from the many dogs she was housed with. In spite of everything, this now-overweight senior has a happy disposition. She's always eager to go outside but will walk just a bit, then sit while you pet her as she watches the world go by, so a home with a yard would be a perfect fit! In her new home, Olga will need to be the only pet as she occasionally goes after small creatures, and she will also guard her food and toys until she trusts you 100%. Even though she was deprived of human kindness in her early years, she is super grateful for small shows of affection-two of her favorite things are having her thick, luxurious coat brushed or petted (if you dare stop, she'll lift her paw to tell you to please continue!). We're convinced this lady knows that eyes are the window to the soul as she'll stare at you with her big brown eyes to try to make a connection. Olga came to the shelter unspayed and due to her advanced age, she will remain that way. All her vaccinations are up to date, she is house-trained and is hoping to find a loving home where she can live out her golden years.
