About Pistachio

Pistachio came to us with his 5 young kids. He was able to help raise them and was a great dad! He still loves to play, groom and cuddle with them too. Pistachio is a gentle giant with a HUGE heart! He will look at you with his big eyes and your heart will melt! He loves attention, likes to be pet and to be held. He is a real sweetheart without a mean bone in his body. Life on the streets for Pistachio was rough, especially since he was protecting his young. Needless to say, Pistachio was not in great shape when he came to us. He was thin, his teeth were in bad shape and unfortunately he tested positive for FIV. During his time with us, he's filled out and cleaned up so nicely! He had his teeth cleaned and the bad ones were removed. He's such a beautiful boy! Regarding FIV, know that cats who are FIV+ can live long and healthy lives just as any other cat can. FIV+ cats can even live with other cats! See, FIV is transmitted primarily thru deep bite wounds. He doesn't get a long too well with other males, except his kids. His son Cashew is also up for adoption and they would be a great father/son duo to adopt if you're looking for two.
