About Bruno

Adoption Fee: $50.00
Catahoula mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Bruno - 7-year-old dog looking for a calm home. Meet Bruno! He is a big, sensitive guy looking for a new home. Bruno is currently in Georgetown, Texas. He is a 65 lb Catahoula mix, neutered and current on vaccines and HW preventative. Bruno has lived with my daughter, her husband and two other dogs since 2015. Recently, there was an unfortunate incident with the 3-year-old toddler in the home. My granddaughter. We think she put an object in Bruno's face, and possibly grabbed him. Previously when she made him uncomfortable, he growled to warn of his discomfort. This last encounter, Bruno bit her. She has made a full recovery. I immediately removed him from the home as the family had requested and he has been living with my wife and I for over to a month now. Now that you know all about that, let me tell you about what a wonderful dog Bruno is! Bruno LOVES his people. He likely came from an abusive situation before my daughter adopted him, but that didn't keep him from trusting them and showing affection. Treats and a gentle voice go a long way and then y'all will be best buds! Bruno has lived happily with 2 dog siblings - one small dog, and the other was a big dog like him. Bruno will need proper intros to any resident dogs. He does best with other calm pups. Cats are an unknown. Bruno had his front leg amputated due to his previous abusive situation. He is a healthy dog but isn't really up for long walks. Bruno knows sit, stay and he waits to eat until he is given a verbal command. In the house where Bruno had lived, the dogs were fed separately, so Bruno is not used to co-feeding. Bruno is the PERFECT couch potato buddy. If it is a sunny day, you can catch Bruno out in the yard soaking up all the vitamin D! Bruno is house trained. Bruno does have some confinement anxiety, so he is currently not crate trained. However, my wife and I let Bruno have pretty much free roam of the house when we are not at home and it has been without any incident. He is afraid of rain and thunder (CBD oil helps decrease his storm anxiety), and he cowers if anyone raises their voice. Bruno can live with older children as long as they are respectful. Bruno is currently staying with us and we love having him here, but this cannot be a long-term solution since your granddaughter comes to our house often.
