His warm brown eyes are just a hint to his warm personality! Brody is a 70-pound pittie mix male located in Chester, NH. His age is approximate, about 5 or 6 years old. Behind this hunk a' burnin' love is a sweet and sensitive dog. He's neutered, up-to-date on shots, house-trained and crate-trained. He also knows some basic commands like sit, stay, off, leave it, drop it. Brody was excellent at his evaluation by ARK trainer and friend Laurel of Lulu's Legacy. She stated, 'He greeted me enthusiastically, with wiggly body and loosely wagging tail. When I called to him, he came to me immediately and gently took treats from my hand.' Brody is a great, all-around happy dog who doesn't know a stranger! Though his background is unclear, evidently he experienced trauma in his early years in Texas. That is long behind him - there's no doubt that Brody was meant to be in a loving home as an integral family member. Brody's current family adores him, but he is being re-homed because the household is too busy with 4 kids and 2 other dogs. Brody loves people, almost too much because he gets stressed when left alone. He needs someone who is home often or who can take him along with them. He'd be great for a telecommuter, retired person/couple, or for someone on the road who would love him as a co-pilot. Help from a professional trainer may be needed to overcome this. (ARK can guide you to trusted certified pros in your area!) Brody is also great with kids, but due to his size and body build, kids 8 and older are best to love on him and snuggle with. He loves to cuddle! His ideal home would have plenty of time for him, take him on hiking adventures or just lounge around the house! If he had to choose a favorite thing, he'd choose any place comfy because he is a real couch potato. He is dog 'selective' and is not good with cats, so he will be the only pet in the home. Brody has escape artist skills and would benefit from a fence that is secured and 6-feet tall. Otherwise, he must always be on a lead or he'll be gone in a flash with the first squirrel he sees!
