About Eliot

Adoption Fee: $25
American Shorthair / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hello and thank you for looking into Eliot! This cat is my absolute heart and soul, but due to my financial status I am having to rehome him. My lease is up in December and afterwards I will be living in my car. Obviously this is not what is best for him so I'm trying to give him the best life possible by finding him a loving, stable home. He has been with someone I met through the neighborhood app but unfortunately it didn't work out. They have a street cat that got annoyed with how often he wanted to play and cuddle so they got in a fight. He is declawed so on top of the obvious problem there he also couldn't defend himself. I've never known him to have an issue with another cat as he was raised with other cats constantly because I used to foster. They say their current cat just went from uninterested in home to aggressive and I guess he can't take the hint to leave her be. I'm trying to find him a perfect home which is why I'm asking a rehoming fee. Because of what has happened with the other cat I would prefer him to go to a home that is single cat or with cats as open to newcomers as he is. He's about two years old (I mark his birthday as April). He is probably the most sweet cat I've ever had and he's very intuitive. He always seems to know when you're stressed or upset and he loves to cuddle with you and make biscuits to cheer you up. He can be a bit shy but it usually doesn't take long for him to open up (about 2 days max typically). He loves to play ESPECIALLY with laser pointers and wands. His only shortcoming that I can think of is that he just absolutely hates being in the car. He used to be ok and just get some minor anxiety but nowadays even just the short trip to the vet gives him anxiety attacks. Other than that though he's really great and he would absolutely thrive in a steady home where he can get lots of attention. Please if you or anyone you know might be interested feel free to reach out and ask questions if you would like!
