About Gunner

Hello! I am Gunner, a laid-back boy who loves to play with toys. I enjoy ropes, frisbees and tug of war. I am a hunter of squeakers and will abandon a toy once the squeaker is out. I am a smart dog who walks well on leash, and is crate and house trained. Unfortunately, I have been attacked by other dogs and no longer feel safe around them. Therefore, I need to be the only pet where I can feel safe in the home. I do get along with a senior dog in my foster home who respects my space. Therefore, there is a possibility I could fit in to a home with a similar situation. I am a resource guarder (toys and food) with other dogs, but great with people. People can be around me freely when I am eating and playing. Just in case, any kids in the home should be older and able to respect my space. I am very loving and have so much potential. I need a home where I can just be a dog. I am a 7-year-old, 45 lb. hound mix. I am neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. I am living in a foster home in Hampton, Virginia. Transport out of state can be arranged for the right home.
