About Carson

Meet Carson! He's a 2- or 3-year old, 60-pound neutered, pit bull-type male (American pittie/American Staffie) located in Cambridge, MA. His rugged GQ looks are topped by 'au naturel' upright ears to ensure he hears the dinner bell. Carson is a nice, young and energetic dog who is ready to bust out of 'jail' to start a whole new life with an active, fun family with dog experience. Carson was found as a stray. He'd get loose many times and finally his elderly owners thought it best to surrender Carson to animal control as it was getting too difficult to care for him. They stated that Carson never had issues with other dogs on his walks or when he would get loose but the boarding facility where Carson is staying has not done any dog introductions. We do know he is OK in the kennel as dogs pass, so he may do well with a compatible dog of similar temperament after proper introductions are made. Carson is very friendly with people and actually accepting of strangers, too. He did well with the people who found him, and those overseeing him say he's a sweet boy. He is not aggressive, either. Since we don't know how he is with kids, we suggest teens only due to his size. Carson would love a yard and someone to work him on basic obedience skills. Training is an awesome way to bond with a rescue dog! The previous owner could manage Carson while walking him on a leash despite needing a cane to get around.
