About Bella

Senior girl 11 years old pure bred dachshund looking for new home...I inherited Bella when my mother passed. She is 11 yrs old, she isn't blind but i think she has the beginnings of cataracts. She sleeps in a dog bed or crate, not in bed with you, she doesn't like covers. She is missing a lot of teeth but still eats dry dog food. My mother fed her people food so she will snatch food from your hand. If you remember to take her out regularly then she never has an accident. She cannot do stairs and therefore my husband and I have been taking her out regularly. She has never bitten anyone and is very skittish and timid. She is ok with children and other dogs. She's is a very caring, loving dog who likes the occasional belly rub and cuddle, but over all isn't super needy. She just loves to follow people into the kitchens in the hopes of finding a scrap. We've had her for a year and a half but she's becoming a hazard to my health, as she is my little shadow who likes to follow me around the kitchen, and she is so small I don't see her sometimes and then trip over her. It's happened a few times & now I am rehabilitating a torn ligament in my shoulder because I fell hard, landing in a weird way, trying to avoid landing on her. Sadly I am no longer safe in my home with her around, but she still deserves to live out her life in a loving home.
