Dazzling Diamond must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER by Saturday, September 26th, 5:30 PM. Should Dazzling Diamond's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Dazzling Diamond's timestamp will not be extended and her current date should be considered the deadline for confirmed placement. Dazzling Diamond urgently needs to leave because she has presented with a history of reactive behavior in her previous home as well as behavior in the shelter which has not allowed for safe handling. Any rescue that pulls will need to be well versed in behavior management and modification given her history. Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other 'TBD' statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. She may benefit from trazodone administration. Behavior Observation: (9/24) Per Volunteer -- Dazzling Diamond, 4 clips, out with treats. Once leashed (used mine and a nylon just in case) she still took her time leaving the kennel. We took a short walk, short time in the run ( no real interest in toys), I didn't try to pet her, and she did have a brief fence meet with Cheese, and she was ok. Her O/S sheet say she attacked the shiz szu and they had her for 2 years (9/23) Per Staff -- Attempted to remove from kennel this morning. On approach, she is tense, whale eyed and hard barking. When assessor comes to front of kennel door, she lunges and barks harder. Snaps at assessor's hand when leash is presented. Attempted to open kennel door but she lunges again, hitting door hard so not able to safely open. Unable to remove. (9/21) Per Vet Staff -- Laying in kennel, growling when approached (9/21) Per Staff -- Attempted to remove from kennel but Dazzling Diamond was lunging and snapping at leash as soon as presented. When door was cracked open to attempt to slip leash on, she bit onto leash but then let go so leash could be removed. (9/20) Per Staff -- On morning walkthrough, Dazzling Diamond is whale eyed and hard barking at front of kennel. When assessor presents treat, she lunges hard against kennel door and snaps at hand. Her eyes remain fixed as assessor moves on to next kennel. (9/19) Per Staff -- Dog presented to intake earlier in the afternoon today. Dog was nervous but cautiously friendly initially. When KA attempted to muzzle dog, she started low growling. She snapped at KA. We were able to check her in using a control stick and 2 KAs but she low growled and whale eyed the entire time. (9/19) Per Owner -- aggressive with strangers, protective, friendly with people she knows, protective of children 1-6. attacked small dog in home. Listens, affectionate. Fine on leash, pulls slightly. Diamond doesn't have much time , we can transport , you can foster or adopt ! Please just call you will love her !! Will transport !! She doesn't deserve to die from an altercation with the small dog she lived with for 2 years !! Love , Light , Life. For Diamond !!
