About Dutchess

Meet Dutchess! Dutchess was left chained under a trailer with her newborn puppies when her owners had to move. They all went to a foster home to get the love and care they needed until they were ready for adoption! All of the puppies have found great homes and now we hope for the same for Dutchess. Dutchess is around two years old and weighs 55 pounds. Duchess is very loving even though she's a bit shy when she first meets new people. She needs to learn basic commands but tries very hard to please her foster mom. She enjoys playing in the yard with the other dogs in her foster home and sleeps in her crate at night. She would thrive in a home that is with a home who is willing to work on basic training. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
