About Miss Fancy

Miss Fancy fits her name just fine, and she's got the attitude to go with it! What a goreous girl she is, and the underbite is such a nice touch, don't you think??? Fancy is somewhere between five and eight years old, around 13 pounds, and is a sophisticated adult just waiting for the right person/people to help her be the calm and sweet dog she should be. Once she decides you are not a danger to her she is a loving, sweet girl that tends to not like a lot of chaos in her life BUT she must like you and it may take a bit of time for her to decide you're acceptable. She truly needs her person or people to be her alpha and correct her tendency to be protective of her people and her personal space. Though Fancy's breed is typically very sweet and loving with everyone we have no idea what her background was. We do know she was a stray dog taken in by a family with lots of children and she did not like the children. We do not know why she can be snappy with some new people. Knowing her behavior can be unpredictable with new folks and children, her new people must also be okay with crating her (which she loves) when strangers enter the home. Cats and small dogs are okay by her, but large dogs are a little scary for her. She is not a nuisance barker but will definitely tell you if there is someone or something suspicious in your home that you should check out. Fancy loves the security and sanctity of her crate and does great on a leash for walks and adventures but, again, her person needs to stay on top of her thinking strangers are to be scared off. If you are good with a challenge AND with being the sun around which a beautiful dog's world revolves, Fancy may be just for you. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
