The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 18, 2020 and I may be available for adoption on Sep 25, 2020 at 12:16PM. Shelter notes: 10/24/20 08:27 Dog has stopped charging kennel at me. He will approach and lick my hand then stiffen. Dog is still unpredictable. JS 10/07/20 10:52 took A507167 out on control stick to walk around the back field. At first his body language was relaxed but as soon as JS touched his back and began scratching him, he stiffened up, closed his mouth and began growling. She backed away but from then on, he continued to stop every few minutes between smells and stare her down with his mouth closed, body stiff and rigid, tail set and not wagging. When I would try to get his attention, he would look at me with a relaxed body. We thought that maybe I reminded him of someone but when I tried to get a little closer, his mouth closed and body no longer looked relaxed. He still needs time. ml 10/01/20 15:17 Shared some of my lunch with him this afternoon. He really seemed to enjoy it. Did not bark at me at all however, he does not take treats gently. He is quick about it... grabs and gulps. Seems to be doing a little better. ml 09/25/20 10:02 Rescue Only due to behavior DH 09/22/20 13:20 I approach kennel, speaking with easy voice to dog. Dog was tense, I put my hand out for dog to smell but he immediatley charged front of gate and tried to bite. I left dog alone after that. Later in the afternoon I tried to approach him again he reacted the same way except this time I tried to correct him. Dog did back off. Will need some time to become comfortable with new environment and new people. May need more time to gain trust and calm down. Ym 9-19-20 This boy was timid and jumpy during apprehension. He lifted his lip at me during impound, so no vax at the time.
