The shelter staff think I am about 9 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Aug 13, 2020. I'm 9 years young, enjoy the company of my fur friends with proper introductions as well as the time I spend with my human friends. Despite my best efforts to adjust to shelter life since arriving last month, this is not a life for me! I do not care for spending my days in a kennel. Terrance was friendly when found by a caring stranger, and has a micro-chip, but his owners were never found. Here are some notes about Terrance: 8/13/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT Entered vaccine room with soft body posture, solicited attention, allowed petting. After vaccinating dog was startled by something and growled and air-snapped at handler. After several moments the dog softened again. Walked well to kennel. 8/16/2020 EVALUATION Attempted to push out of kennel; grabbed at leash a couple of times but once leashed exited and pulled hard to yard. Allowed all handling during collar placement. Entered yard in fast manner and pulled to greet other dogs. Greeted invasive but settled and had some appropriate greetings. Did not let loose into yard; placed in side yard for continued time out of kennel. Pushed out of side yard and got loose from handler on return to kennel. 9/7/2020 OBSERVATION Attempted to push out on pull; fence fought on pull and return; explored yard; did not seek attention from handler but allowed petting when approached; reluctant to return to kennel. 9/14/2020 WALK Moderate pull, a little mouthy, pulled moderately to yard, had zoomies and explored, not interested in attention from handler, reactive to dogs passing fence, running along fence-line and muzzle punching fence, returned dog into kennel with no issues, removed 1st leash with 2nd due to mouthy-ness on pull and fence fighting on return to kennel. 9/17/2020 OBSERVATION Observed high arousal in the kennel. Placing on daily enrichment. 9/17/2020 ENRICHMENT Excited to be leashed in kennel; pulled slightly to yard. While in yard roamed yard and was affiliative with handler. Allowed all handling. Terrance is close to facing euthanasia unless adopted very soon. Please consider adopting this sweet old man before he leaves this world unloved.
