About Captain

This sweet boy is just a gentle giant. He reminds me of one of those big stuffed teddy bears you used to be able to get at the State Fair (back in the good old days). He's super huggable, very easy going, good with other dogs, just a sweet sweet big boy. His goal in life is to be someone's pillow. When Captain arrived, he had a noticeable limp that seemed to be related to his shoulder or possible joint problems. Our vet x-rayed him and found two bullets in his front legs. One was in the elbow and she was able to remove it, but the other was embedded in his shoulder and had been there long enough to be calcified. Removing this bullet would involve extensive surgery and probably a long recovery/rehab period for Captain. So even though he has some obvious discomfort from this injury, we have decided to try to adopt him 'as is'. He loves to go outside and romp with other dogs and does well as long as we don't let him overdo it. We highly recommend a fenced yard for Captain because he loves to explore if he has the chance. He is neutered, has current vaccinations, and is microchipped.
