Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3. ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listing fully to the end before applying. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or cash. The sweetest soul ever, Miso was wondering around the very hard, cold & terrifying streets of Korea. How she survived on those streets we will never truly know as she was so fortunate that the unspeakable did not happen to her. Thankfully the outstanding Korean rescue was notified about Miso & they bought her in their rescue to save her & change her destiny. Then we were asked could we help & it was with joy we said yes. Miso was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Miso & another friend from Korea, were bought back to the USA where they are now US citizens & are so happy to be here & can't wait to find their new loving forever home. Miso is such an amazing soul, considering we truly do not know how long she was on the streets for & what she really endured she is so trusting of people. She is shy at first until she knows you then look out, she is the loveliest, gentlest soul. Miso is currently with other dogs but wants all the attention so we think she should be the only dog in the home & receive all the attention. She loves to be held & cuddled & given love & does not mind at all being picked up & held as you can see from her pictures. Since being in the rescue she has come a long way, she was a little shy & nervous at first but now she likes everyone she meets. Did we mention she loves to eat, well of course she does, she has adjusted very well to her new life but still needs to put on more weight in her new home. Miso does not know what treats are, so we have been trying to teach her that treats are a wonderful thing. When the rescues have not had treats before, some do not know what to do with them. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Miso & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & a warm bed, everything is new to this beautiful little lady. Miso rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good car ride. Miso will need continued time to be taught to walk on a harness & leash as this is all new to her, but has been doing amazing with us with us. In Miso's new forever home she will require a fully fenced backyard for her enjoyment & safety. Miso is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved. Miso has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dog but think she would do best being the only do in the home. Miso is roughly 30.5 lbs, 2 years old & perhaps a jindo, female & we have been putting weight on her, when she came to us she still needed to put on weight, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed twice. We have spent far more on Miso than her adoption fee covers, with rescuing her, transport fees from Korea, transport fees to WA & medical fees, shots etc. Miso has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it's always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children & it's always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Miso was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it's always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Miso friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to & not just take her to 1 training class. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training.
