How & why we will never know how the most lovable big bundle of joy ended up in a kill shelter is beyond us in CA? Cooper came into the shelter as a stray & he came in with a friend. As the story goes oh so often, the friend was adopted/rescued & beautiful Cooper was left behind in the shelter with absolutely no one coming for this boy. Of course he became frightened in the shelter & nervous & wanted out, so that makes it harder for him to find a way out of there. We were not going to let Cooper down nor let anything happen to one of the best dogs & biggest sweethearts we have ever met. Cooper was bought back to WA state from CA where he can't wait to find his loving forever home. Cooper is yet again another one of the truly most amazing, loving & oh so affectionate dogs we have ever met. To think that he almost lost his life is devastating to us & absolutely shameful. When we first rescued Cooper & got him to our vets it was quite evident he was thin & needed to put on weight which his amazing foster home is working on. He was also very matted & stunk as if he had never had a bath before. Cooper loves to be brushed & massaged & held & cuddled. This boy is a big teddy bear. His love for people is so great & so is his love for playing with other dogs. He plays so very gentle but it would have to be of course kept in mind that he still is a big dog when playing with little dogs. Cooper is currently in a foster home with another big dog & small dogs. Cooper has been great with his bath in his foster home. Everyone who meets Cooper from our vets, people at the park & everyone in our beloved rescue adores Cooper. Did we mention Cooper is a hugger, well yes he is. If he knows you, he will truly stand up & hug you. Cooper rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & we have walked him countless times & does so well but does get a little excited sometimes when he sees other dogs because he wants to go play with them. We are looking for a forever home for Cooper where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Cooper loves other dogs & enjoys playing in the backyard with them so he requires a fully fenced secure backyard & another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. This is mandatory for his new home. Cooper is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Cooper has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs here in WA in his foster home with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company & playing with them. It's mandatory for him to be in a home with another or other playful dogs. Please remember he is a big dog. Cooper is roughly 2 years old & now 60 lbs & is perhaps a sapsali mix, male, needed to put on a lot of weight & was very thin & we are still putting weight on this beautiful boy, microchipped, neutered, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, dewormed, flea treatment & heart worm negative. When we got Cooper out of the shelter he weight 55.1 lbs. We have spent far more on rescuing Cooper, with all of his medical care getting him well with putting weight on this boy, shots, medications, boarding etc in CA & along with transport etc than Cooper's fee covers. Cooper has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it's always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it's always up to the family to be responsible with their children. Cooper is currently in a foster home with teenagers & dogs, he loves them & they love him right back. We were not there when Cooper was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it's always up to the new potential family to loo
