About

Adoption Fee: $60
British Shorthair / Bombay
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Spoticus Smurfmeister is a handsome chocolate black and white short hair male approx. 8yr. His adoption fee is $60. He has been vetted, neutered and has had no health issues. Mom has not been feeling well, in and out of the hospital and she needs to downsize. Spot will adjust the easiest so he was the chosen one. He was a bottle-fed baby and would be happiest in a home as the only pet to have his people all to himself. Nice kids ok. THE FAMILY IS MAKING THE EFFORT! THEY DIDN'T DUMP THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES ONTO THE KILL SHELTER! PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, especially older kitties, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed. You cannot force him, that will scare him. Actually, you cannot force any cat, period. After his adjustment period Spot is a sweet, kind and loving companion. He will want to be where you are and will basically demand your attention. He is independent but needy, absolutely craves affection and love. His mom said he may be deaf? or partially, but once he realizes you are there, he quickly greets you with a soft headbutt and a meow, demanding cuddles and ear scratches. He would like to think that life is all about him, in a good way. If he wants to sit on your lap, there he is, if he wants you to pet him, there he is, if he needs your attention, he will let you know it. He is very adaptable, quirky and loving. He will thrive in a stress-free happy environment. His favorite pastime is lounging and spending time in his outdoor enclosed cat run where he is safe and secure, and well protected. He's very chatty and will tell you exactly what he's thinking! He loves interactive toys like feather on a stick, shoe lace drag and laser lite as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. He loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. He has been free fed Purina One Sensitive Skin & Stomach Formula, a quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of Fancy Feast morning and night and he is already used to a kitty fountain. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Spoticus Smurfmeister FOR LIFE!
