About Bowie (Klaus)

Hi! My name is Bowie (formerly known as Klaus), and I am looking for a pack to call my own! I love to play! I am looking for a home with a dog around my age that is my size or bigger. I have a pack mentality and thrive being with other dogs. I don't have much of a fetch drive, but I do like puppy toys I can chew on and I am learning to play tug with my foster brothers. I'm great with all dogs but I also like to wrestle - which is why I need to be in a house with a dog my size or bigger. I also do great on walks when I'm with my pack. I would love to be with a family that goes on adventures or has lots of room for play! My story includes some trauma. I was dropped off with a rope grown into my neck due to neglect. But no worries, the lovely vets were able to surgically remove it for me! I do have a scar around my neck but it doesn't bother me at all - I just ask you use a harness instead of a collar. I know how to sit and have been working on stay and recall commands. I'm a smart little guy! I am crate trained and a crate for me is a must - it's my safe zone! I'm trying to learn to swim too. I am great with other dogs, cats, and have even been around horses. I've been around small kids and was good, but they need to be respectful of my space. I am shy at first, but once I get to know you I open up beautifully. I need a family that can be patient with me and work to build trust. Ultimately, I just want to belong, and I need a family that can give me that! I am medium sized, about 40 lbs, DOB 10/14/2019, with low grooming needs. I am neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines and currently being fostered in Melbourne, FL (Brevard County). I do need a house with a fenced-in yard.
