About Roxie

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

With impish eyes like a meerkat's and perkily pointed ears, 3-year-old Roxie is one foxy lady! This 8-lb. Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix is the ultimate lap dog. Friendly with familiar folks, including children, Roxy will bark and hide from strangers at first. Eventually, however, the lure of an unexplored lap will push her to throw caution aside, and she'll be snuggling with them too. Roxie likes other dogs that are fairly close to her size, but she could get into trouble around larger dogs because she barks and runs after them. You'll need to monitor her and her Chihuahua-like inflated sense of self whenever she's around big dogs. She hasn't been around any cats, but she doesn't seem to have much of a prey drive. Roxie is great at going out the dog door to potty and hasn't had an accident in over a month. Roxie didn't care for a leash when she first came into foster care but has learned to walk fairly well on one. She still isn't a fan of going potty on a leash, so if you don't have a fenced yard, you'll need to be extra patient and encouraging of her attempts to learn new habits. Roxie strongly hopes that you lead a fairly quiet life and that you're looking for an adorable little companion like her to give you some company and free snuggles. Very much an indoor girl, Roxie doesn't want to go on long hikes (though car rides are fun) and will be perfectly content to snooze while you read or watch your favorite movie. More photos of Roxie can be found in her online album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/roxy . Can't you picture this lovely lady lying in YOUR lap? ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ROXIE, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
