About Butterscotch

Butterscotch is a handsome 5 year old, neutered male Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer Mix who weighs approximately 60 pounds. He's microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. Butterscotch is a former NYC ACC Shelter dog that's currently living in a foster home where his behavior has been thoroughly evaluated. Butterscotch is house trained, crate trained, behaves well when left home alone, and knows his commands including: sit, stay, down, paw, and roll over. Butterscotch is a very tolerant, calm, and well mannered dog. Butterscotch is kid friendly and does great with children of all ages. He's a social dog who makes friends with every person he meets, both men and women. Butters an affectionate dog who loves to give kisses. He will cuddle on the couch with you or lay by your feet while you're working from home. Wherever you are, he's likely not too far away! Butters is a big fan of dog toys who loves to play tug a war or fetch, if you're up for it! He's also great at keeping himself entertained with his favorite toys which are filled kongs, chew bones, bully sticks, and stuffed squeaky toys. Butters the perfect balance of laid back and active that you could ever ask for in a dog. Butterscotch is a social butterfly who loves attention from all people so he's very comfortable with strangers approaching him to say hi. While in foster care, Butters often goes to public places such as stores and restaurants. He's respectful and quiet, so he's the perfect buddy to run errands with! Butterscotch walks well on leash with minimal pulling and loves car rides. He'll always be happy to join you on an adventure! Butterscotch does not get along with other dogs. If he sees another dog while out on a walk, he will pull towards the dog but does not bark or growl. His reactions to dogs has improved over time with training but he will not be a dog you can take to a dog park for playtime. Since Butters does not get along with other pets, he must be the only pet in the home. Butters is the happiest when surrounded by people so he's the perfect dog for an active family but will thrive in any household. He is located in New York City but looking for an adopter who can provide Butterscotch a peaceful home with a yard outside of a hectic city. Transportation will be provided to his forever home regardless of distance, so long as the adopter can provide Butterscotch a loving home that fits the above criteria.
