About Dharma

We have had a wonderful pit bull for 6 years named Dharma. Dharma is a sweet, loving, wonderful girl! She has been a part of our family in everything we have done including our marriage and through the birth of our first child. We are now expecting a second child and we are having great difficulties with managing our family life and our beloved dog. Dharma does not like other dogs, so she would be best in an only dog household. She would also be best in a house with no young children. Like any dog would, she does not want to be disturbed when eating or chewing toys (resource guarding). We have been ultra vigilent, but as any parent knows, you cannot have your eye on your children 100% of the time. We have had some close calls with tail pulling and the like and it's no longer safe to have the toddler and dog in the house together. She would do best in a house with older children who understand boundaries.
