About

Adoption Fee: $75
Burmese / Bombay
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Tater Tot is a handsome BIG SOLID 20 lb'er. He is chocolate black with white tuxedo short hair male approx. 2yr. His adoption fee is $75. He has been vetted and neutered. He would be happiest in a home as the only pet to have his people all to himself. He was living at a horse ranch and the property owner decided she was going to take him to the kill shelter. His rescue/foster mom got wind of it and grabbed him first. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it but Tater probably will. He is independent but needy, outgoing and social. He will want to snuggle but snuggle gently. People at the ranch thought it was fun to taunt and tease him so he 'played' hard. That came to an end when his rescue mom got him and started rehabilitating him. She has really mellowed him out considerably and taught him how to play nicely and lovingly. His foster home has dogs so he hangs out upstairs. When the dogs are not chasing him he will get comfy on a lap but he first has to get adjusted to his new surroundings and trust. You cannot force him, that will scare him. Actually, you cannot force any cat, period. You will know when you have broken the ice when he gives you little kisses. He loves interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. This is a serious point'| Play with him facing you and don't play with him with your hands, use interactive toys. You don't want him to revert back to rough play because once you have wired him up he is a strong player, he can accidently hurt you and we don't want him ruined. Keep him sweet and watch for his cat signs for when he starts getting overstimulated, AND STOP. Wear him out with a laser lite and interactive play and he will be ready for some snuggly love. He really is a very very lovable boy! He LOVES catnip and you can get him to do anything for it. He loves kitty treats and will come running when he hears the bag rustling. Every morning he waits for his turkey treats'|he LOVES his turkey. He loves a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. He will expect to share your bed. He has been free fed quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and gets up to a can of Fancy Feast morning and night. He wants to be an inside only cat but he is also a dingbat and if you leave the door open he will be gone to investigate but there is a trick with a squirt bottle that will make him think the door is getting him wet then you 'rescue him', playing good guy bad guy. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Tater Tot FOR LIFE! CNPS text 602-332-6615 email [email protected] REMEMBER WHEN YOU ARE ADOPTING A PET YOU ARE ADOPTING A FAMILY MEMBER FOR LIFE! THEY ARE NOT THROW AWAY TOYS! WHEN YOU MOVE YOU TAKE YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR BELONGINGS, YOUR PETS. IT'S A LIFE, A COMMITMENT TO THE END. If you need any type of help with an animal this is a great place to start.
