About Hank

Meet Hank! Hank is a 3 y/o Lab. He's a retired Breeding Dog from an Amish puppy mill. When Hank first came to the rescue, he's was emaciated & so terrified, he wouldn't even walk. He's been abused and tortured. They tagged his ears like cattle, which were ripped out at some point, so he had open wounds. Today he's a completely different fur Buddy. He loves everyone. He craves attention, love and cuddles. He's great with kids of all ages. He's learning to play and stays very close to you when out walking. He is a bit food aggressive, nothing excessive but worth noting. He also loves to eat. If there is food in his reach, he's going to eat it, which is completely understandable considering what he's been through but his foster family is working with him closely. He's still trying to get the hang of potty training but doing a lot better. He's a puppy in a dog body. Everything is still very new to him, which is fun to watch when introducing new things, sounds or feels. (Side note... Mirrors are fun, he's still looking for the dog behind them.) He's still learning the world. He's still gets spooked easily, to which he will run or drop to his belly. This will take time and trust. But if you are looking for a best buddy and loyal sidekick, he's the one. He will go anywhere you go, without being prompted, your personal space, is also his. He has not been Cat tested but can be if necessary. His fosters live on a farm and Hank loves to be outside. When he is on a leash, he doesn't pull. It is rare to hear him bark or make much noise at all. He's the strong silent type. He doesn't do well being created. This causes a lot of anxiety. He spent his life locked up with little human contact. He will need someone with patience and time to dedicate to him. He's fully vetted, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered.
