About Moluccan Cockatoo F

Holly is a sweet girl after she gets to know you which took a long time for her to warm up to me and lots of patience but she is a Cockatoo! She has her quirks and is set in her ways. She LUVS to have the feathers broken on her crest and under her wings rubbed but when shes done she will walk away. She is full flighted as all my birds and is fully capable of flying away if she wants to but doesn't, she likes to walk around her cage all day and goes in at night. She only says 'I'm a pretty gurl' and no matter how hard you try to get her to say anything else ... well good luck! She does NOT like long hair, if you have it make sure it is pulled up or she will attack ... not play but attack! She will let you you know when it's sunup and sundown for a short time otherwise she is quiet! Would not be good around young kids, small dogs or dogs that bark alot. She does get along w other birds, her buddies have been my quaker and a goffin female. They all respect each others space but share it at the same time. You MUST be experienced w birds a Cockatoo is NOT a first time bird to get. PLEASE make sure that your HOA will allow LARGE parrots if you have one, even IF you own and live in a single family home. PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER A LARGE PARROT OF ANY SPECIES INCL A MACAW OR COCKATOO IF YOU LIVE IN AN APT, TOWNHOUSE OR CONDO! Trust me in 36 years I have had numerous birds returned.
