About Tuff

Tuff is a dog that we rescued several months ago off of someone's front porch. We have owned Plotts in the past, and to the best of our knowledge, he is a purebred. Tuff is a good dog who seems to be happy indoors and out. He is house broken. Tuff is generally good with people but takes a while to warm up to you. Once he does he seems very loyal. However, we have had a reoccurring issue with him snapping at our children if he is approached while lying down. The last of a few incidences required a few stitches on our daughter. Tuff is submissive to trusted adults, but must have been mistreated at some point due to his fear of strangers. Unfortunately, we can no longer trust Tuff with our young children, but we believe he can be a good dog to someone in the right situation. We would surely hate to turn him over to the county shelter as his fate would be questionable, but we can not keep him much longer on our back porch (away from our children).
