Foster or adopter needed! Apply to be his rescue hero at http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/ or email questions to [email protected] Meet Tag! This 1-1/2-year old, 35-pound boy is an adorable Shepherd mix from the Lone Star state. He is fully vetted and currently in a temporary foster home in Millbury, MA. Poor little Tag was to be euthanized for his shelter stress but rescue partners saved him! #JustSaveThem Tag didn't get much individual human attention until rescued, so he is scared around people. Timid dogs like Tag are known to flee, so ideally he should be kept leashed until he feels safe. He would benefit from a secure yard with a six-foot high fence all around. Though he does not approach his current foster mom, he allows her to tug his leash to a point where he will lie near her and allow petting. Tag also lets her take his leash on and off when he goes in and out of the crate. These baby steps and other improvements show that Tag is progressing very well now that he is out of a shelter. Tag seems to enjoy other dogs and is currently around them, both small and large, and both male and female. He knows how to play-bow and likes playing chase. Tag, you're it! He is housetrained but can get a sensitive tummy when nervous. Tag does well outside of his crate. He is not destructive when left out and is not aggressive at all. He is generally quiet, but occasionally reminds people that he's around with a howl! The perfect family for Tag is a one- or two-person home with another dog to show him the ropes (or as the only dog if his person gives him lots of companionship). He really needs human bonding but at a slow pace. Slow and steady wins the race! Though Tag is a project dog because of a past he could not control, he sure is a good boy!
