About Lucky

Pretty Lucky is an older gal who hasn't had an easy life. We're guessing she is around 8 years old and an American Bulldog mix. Lucky does well with LARGER dogs and kids, but we are not sure about cats. She was found in the streets of San Antonio in April 2018, pregnant, covered in open wounds and with her two front teeth missing, upper AND lower. After no treatment for her skin condition and a second litter of pups, Lucky was finally fostered by a rescuer in April 2019, who got her diagnosed properly with the autoimmune skin disease: Pemphigus Foliaceus. To keep her inflamed skin and bleeding feet at bay, Lucky must take a low dose of Prednisone daily for the rest of her life. Because of the steroids, this happy girl has ballooned to 100lbs. and takes RC Canine weight loss food (also prescription). Lucky also has a larger than life personality, wags a lot, jumps on the couch (in spite of her weight) and plays well with other big dogs. She is housebroken and kennel trained.
