About Aiko

Aiko is super smart and loves to please me and loves to chase a ball or stick. She is very sweet with our family most of the time, but she has nipped everyone in our family without breaking the skin. However, we have had to work through a lot of stuff with her. She has food agression with bone food (which is much improved but not gone), and is fearful of strangers and kids. She will not hesitate to bite if people get in her face, especially kids, and especially if there is a bone in the vacinity. She has broken the skin on people outside the family. She has yet to puncture, but it seems that she bits a bit harder each time and has drawn blood, but nothing requiring stiches. We live on a farm and have kids with friends and we just cannot manage this anymore. We love her so much, though, and wish she had a situation where she would not have so many people coming by. She has many good qualities as well. She is capable of learning just about anything. And she sticks close to home without a fence or lead. She gets very anxious and angry when on leash. I honestly believe she could be a great companion for a single person without a lot of company. And could be taught to herd and be a working dog and would probably be very happy in that type of situation.
