Poor little Southie was brought to the shelter by a kind person after being found on the street. He was dehydrated and scared. We saved this sweet boy and now he is safe. Southie is about 2-3 years old and weighs 13 pounds. We believe he is a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix. He does best with calm dogs his size and is a little curious of cats but did fine. Southie also needs a strong pack leader to provide leadership and continue his training. He is a little apprehensive when seeing large dogs on walks and will bark at them and he is also a little apprehensive (mostly with men) he does not know. He can be protective in his home when new people come over, mostly men and will need slow introductions. He will warm up once he gets to know new people which does not take long. He is a sweet boy who is loving and playful and easy in many ways but needs a pack leader. He enjoys walks, playing and riding in the car. No young children but calm older children over 12 would be fine for him. He is pretty much housebroken but may have an occasional accidents in the beginning. If you are reading this post, then Southie is still available for adoption and you will need to apply to adopt him.
