About Mason

Chow Chow mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Mason is a sweet young boy looking for a patient person or family that wants to show him how good life with people can be. Mason was turned into a dog shelter as a young pup of about 3 months with his brother. They were semi-feral at the time and the shelter worked with them daily to get them better with people. Mason's brother got adopted but Mason was more shy and was passed over. We pulled him and since then Mason has been fostered in two different homes and did well in both. Mason really blossoms when with another dog, a confident friendly dog helps him see people in a good light. He is house trained and was non destructive in his foster homes. He was not fond of a crate but when left unattended in a room he behaved. Mason walks pretty well on a leash. When Mason makes up to you he's super loving and his fur is SO soft to pet. Mason has met and done well with numerous dogs of varying size and temperament. Mason is a submissive dog and has allowed all the other dogs to be his boss. Mason is the kind of dog that will be super happy just hanging out at his own house with his own people and dogs. He's not interested in visiting lots of places and doing a lot of new things. A fenced yard would be best for him as he loves to be outside and romp around for hours. Mason was fostered with a 12 year old and was good with him but we think smaller, louder children would likely be too much for him. Mason has been waiting 4 long months for his own family and although he doesn't show it, he is ready to find a home of his own. Please apply for him online at rosscountyhumanesociety.org. We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption. If you are interested in one of the dogs in our facility, please apply online at rosscountyhumanesociety.org. Once your application has been screened you will receive an email with a reply. You must apply and be approved for the dog before you can adopt a dog from us.
