About Diva

Foster, Foster-to-adopt, or Adopter wanted. Deva is a 1-2 year old, 40-pound female Lab/Boxer mix (our best guess). She's very affectionate and smart, and loves to cuddle on the couch or hang out with you wherever you are. She is a real sweetie, however, like so many rescues, she comes with some baggage. She is afraid of men (or at least young men) and in her fear will act out. She is seeing a professional trainer, and is doing very well in this area. As we have gotten to know Deva over these few weeks, we have figured out what she's looking for in a new home: 1) a female owner (or at least an older male) who will exercise her every day, 2) a quiet home where she is the only dog, and 3) an adopter who is committed to her ongoing formal training (she will come with some pre-paid training sessions). She does have some men in her life whom she trusts, so we know she can learn to trust men. She cannot live with cats and is not trustworthy with livestock either. She does require a secure 6 ft fence in her home. Sounds like a tall list, but we know the right person is out there for her, and they will be rewarded with a loyal, loving friend. Deva's adoption fee is $325, and she is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. Please note that we are not doing out of state adoptions at this time.
