PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD. This 7 year old dachshund mix, is full of sass and personality. He was injured 3 years ago by a bigger dog in his spine and was just recently surrendered to us because his owners didn't have the time to care for him.He's a happy boy that will do best in a calmer household with no big dogs or children as we want to make sure he doesn't injure himself more accidentally. He does get along with other dogs & kitties though. He loves to be next to you, get ear scratches and burrow in blankets. He can be more leery of men but only takes just a few minutes to warm up to them! He's an explorer that loves being in the yard or going on car rides. Despite his slight disability, he gets around easily and happily. Surgery is not an option at this point because it happened so long ago and the injury has calcified but he is not painful. We have a feeling that acupuncture and continued water therapy will help him improve even more with walking/strength. We haven't started acupuncture yet because we want to let him get settled somewhere first but we will, once adopted, cover his first acupuncture treatment. We would prefer this guy to go somewhere that has a TON of time for him. A retired couple/family/person would be ideal. He is crate and majority house trained with the occasional accident. With his injury, if he hasn't recently emptied out and you pick him up a certain way he can have an accident from time to time but otherwise he does have control. This boy will be a little extra work, but he will be sooo sooo worth it.
