About Loki

Loki is close to 2yrs old. Actual breed mix is not known. Fully vetted and chipped. He came from a domestic violence situation. He was abandoned & tied to a tree along a riverbank in rural WV. He has lived with young children without incident but will become protective of his people young or old so a strong leader is needed so that he does not feel he has to protect. In the 3 months I have fostered him he has learned to trust people. He still prefers woman over men but warms up to males (if not pressured). He is house trained- not fond of crates & will initially whine but this usually stops relatively quick. He is very playful loves to play ball & tug a war & do zoomies in the yard. He also likes to play in water/baby pools etc & tolerates baths. He is good on lead but will get excited & try to play tug a war with the leash. He understand sit,down, paw,kisses,leave it & bring it. His recall still needs some work. He also does well with basic agility-Ramp/dog walk & Jumps and he is treat motivated. Would prefer adopter have a fenced in yard- since his recall is not that great. Adopter will need to be patient with Loki at first & limit introducing him to a lot of people. It is imperative he feels safe & you get his trust before introductions to others. 'By getting his trust 1st we will ensure success.' Despite his past he is a very loving dog with a wonderful personality & he has tons of love to give.Home visit & references required.
