About Millie

Millie came to us with a sad story. Her 85 year old owner was hospitalized for 2 months, then entered hospice. An apartment complex cared for her in his absence. Millie was then trapped to remove her from the apartment. She is 9 years old, and has lived a sheltered, quiet life. She is a beautiful tabby cat with red and black stripes and very large. She is a 13 lb gal, big boned as any male, but not overweight. Our rescue had blood work done and vet checked, all looked good! She also had a complete dental and a few extractions. All she needs now is TLC, her own space and a companion with the patience to let Millie adjust to her new life. I am writing this as Millie's foster. After her dental, we kept her in her own room. We have 7 overly friendly and rowdy cats. Millie had never even seen a cat before, so this was traumatic for her. She now has full run of the house, but still does not care for the other cats. She may do fine in a home with 1 older cat. She has never attacked the other cats, just avoids them. We would like an adopter who is willing to just let her chill out and de stress for a few weeks and come around on her terms. She does seek out affection here, but is always distracted by other cats. She is a strong willed kitty and knows what she likes and doesn't. She loves feet and shoes. For her, there's nothing like a good roll around on top of a pair of shoes. She also loves playing with her da bird toy and will even tolerate the other cats to play. She loves sitting and looking out the window, sleeping in the bathtub on hot days, and her kitty treats. She would be a great cat for a single person or couple with a quiet home.
