About Hitchcock20

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This gentle boy could break your heart! Hitchcock is a sweet, shy, sensitive boy who's clearly had a rough life. You can tell by how sad and petrified he was when he was surrendered to a high kill shelter. We discovered that he is FIV+ which means he was exposed to a virus that eventually might compromise his immune system, although many FIV+ cats live completely normal lives. %90 He is so passive and afraid of other cats, especially confident ones. He might have been attacked by other cats before we rescued him. He developed a large abscess from a bite wound shortly after he came to Purr Partners. We have taken care of his medical needs, including neutering and vaccines. His foster mom has enjoyed watching him slowly begin to trust. He likes her to pet him and will come out from his hiding spots to meow and flirt with her. He's vocal when he wants attention. %90 His perfect home is with a patient person - maybe someone who has experience with shy cats. He needs to feel safe after a life of hardship. He is currently coexisting with 2 mild mannered female cats in his foster home, but he'd probably prefer to be the only cat. He is a sleek mini panther with a cute white spot on his neck. He will bring you nothing but good luck. %90 Are you the exceptional adopter he's been waiting for? About FIV: FIV is not contagious to other cats except through deep puncture wounds like those caused in fights between two un-neutered males. It is not transmitted by using the same food and water bowls, litter boxes, or toys, and many of us have FIV+ cats happily living with non-FIV cats in our own homes. FIV positive cats, with good vet care, such as you'd give to any cat, can live a normal life span. %90 %90 %90
