Courtesy Posting: NEEDS A HERO TO STEP UP AND SAVE HIM. PLEASE SHARE EVERYWHERE AND PLEDGE. NEEDS EVERYTHING: ADOPTER / RESCUE / FOSTER / PLEDGES WILLY - ID #A5382550 - RESCUE ONLY W/ INDEMNITY WAIVER Castaic Shelter, Castaic, So Cal This adorable 4 yr old male terrier was roaming as a stray and someone tried to grab him and he got scared and nipped the person. Sadly, this makes this scared little pup RESCUE ONLY meaning he is NOT available for public adoption. Rather, a partner rescue with the shelter must agree to pull the dog out of the shelter and take responsibility for him/her. He has been at the shelter since 8/18. If you are interested in fostering/foster-to-adopt/adopting this dog, please email me directly and I will try to help you find a shelter partner rescue to work with. Note: we do not transport dogs to potential adopters. If that is your intent, you will need to make your own arrangements with the rescue and a transporter. My email address is; [email protected]. Here is info from the shelter's behavior assessment of Willy: 'Victim tried to grab the dog by the leash and it lunged biting his left inner thigh and left foot.' 'Behavior evaluation 9/1/20: As the runner approached his kennel he greets him at his kennel gate with soft eyes, natural set ears and a neutral tail. The runner opened his kennel gate and he was easy to leash and easy to walk to the catch pen. He entered the catch pen and greeted the other dogs well through the play yard fence. The handler walked over to him and knelt down to put a leash and collar on him. The handler called him over to him and he approached the handler and stayed at arm's length away. The handler used his leash to move him closer to him. He had tense body, he would not make eye contact with the handler, he had a high tail and concerned eyes. The handler took off his old collar and placed a new collar on him. The handler then checked his ears, he then tried to check his teeth but his pushed his head down and away from the handlers hand as he touched his muzzle. He leaded his body away from the handler as the handler rubbed his back and sides. The handler rubbed down his leg to try to check his feet and pads. He pulled his feet away from the handler. He had a stiff body but tolerated the handler touching him.'
