Courtesy Posting: EXTREMELY URGENT - YOUNG CHOW GIRL IN BERKELEY NEEDS A NEW HOME ASAP! NEED GOOD ADOPTER / FOSTER / RESCUE - WHO CAN HELP? Bailey Berkeley, Nor Cal We have a very urgent situation where a younger chow or chow mix girl was adopted to a home in Berkeley, CA by an out of state rescue. This new home is not working out unfortunately, and the new adopter wants her gone asap, so we are trying to assist the out of state rescue in finding proper placement and or someone can help to temporarily foster or pick her up, or another local rescue to step in, or knows of any temporary boarding options. Bailey is estimated to be 3-4 years old and weighs only 40 lbs, so she is perfect size. She was previously rescued from a high kill shelter. This is what the rescue told me about Bailey when she was in a foster home before: 'Her behavior in foster care has been impeccable - except for a minor scuffle with a roll of paper towels. She is currently in a home with an older & younger dog. She allows being toweled off after walking in the rain, she has a cute little whine when she wants to go outside, she is perfectly content to be by herself, and has started enjoying mutual zoomies with one of the other dogs. If her lead gets caught on a piece of furniture, she understands to reverse to get her lead free again. In playing, she will reach a point where she comes off as aggressive, and that may have been the reason for the shelter placement. She would be best in a home where she could be the queen bee and with children older than 8 or 9, due to playing hard and no cats. She is working on leash training, as she tends to pull, but then will also walk beside you. She has learned to 'wait' before going up the stairs & within a week's time, does this automatically. She essentially comes trained and is a very quick learner. ' The new adopter has an akita and says Bailey is growling at her dog, so she has separated her in a room. When the adopter leaves, Bailey is now barking and she says neighbors are threatening to call the police, and she unfortunately wants Bailey gone asap. So, we need a new, qualified home or place for her that is chow experienced. Please contact me asap at [email protected] if you can help and or have interest in fostering or adopting, or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network. The rescue (HCCC) will need an application submitted to them. https://form.jotform.us/41173109602142 https://www.facebook.com/hccchou/posts/1373587292834256 Bailey's original story when she was first rescued
