About

Adoption Fee: $75
Burmese / Bombay
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Loretta Lune aka Luna is a beautiful chocolate black short hair female with big yellow green eyes. She is approx. 6yr. Her adoption fee is $75. She has been vetted and spayed. She is good with a nice calm dog or she would be happiest as the only pet to have her people all to herself. Luna was adopted as a kitten to a home with no dogs, cats or kids. Since then a baby was born and it's too much to handle. Her family is selflessly letting her go so she can be happy again. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Most kitties don't just go into a new home and own it, they need an adjustment period. Patience, love and space will be needed for a few days. Before kids and all the other animals Luna was the princess. She was more outgoing, she would wander around the house, she was queen of the bedroom and she loved to snuggled with her people. Since the baby she has found her quiet dark safe places to sleep when the baby cries. Mom is busy with the baby so there is no time for Luna, and she is not allowed in the bedroom at night anymore so her whole world has turned upside down. Once she has adjusted Luna is a very kick back, mellow, I love my naps kind of gal. Give me a soft blanky on my persons lap when baby is quiet and I'm in heaven. She does not like to be held and you cannot force her, that will scare her. Actually, you cannot force any cat, period. Luna starts her morning off in one of her 'places'. By afternoon she is out and about, more awake, laying out in the open, typically on the couch, on a blanket or a lap. As of now she just kind of keeps to herself, will come for love when she feels like it and when she has had enough or is not in the mood for people love, she will walk away. If you 'go at her' aggressively or fast she will feel threatened and she will run off. She will feel more confident if approached softly, she loves to be baby talked to (ironic right :) and she likes the sound pst pst pst. She won't be around when there are new people in the house but she will bond with her immediate family. She hasn't played since the big change but interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys would be advantageous. She loves kitty treats, a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with sun rays beaming in. She will expect to share your bed. She has been free fed Purina Naturals, a quality hard food (quality meaning the first ingredient begins with meat) and you will win her over with her can of Fancy Feast morning and night. She loves the kinds with the gravy and that will always win her over. She knows the sound of a can being open and she will be right there. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cat's fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, love and an inside home ADOPT Loretta Lune aka Luna FOR LIFE!
