About RIVER

This handsome little fella is known as RIVER. Reason why? Because it was by a river near a wilderness area where he was found on a hot summer day. He was severely dehydrated and very hungry. The finder had him scanned and was happy to learn that he had a microchip. Several messages were left for the listed owner. A response, however, was never received. RIVER cleaned up to be a gorgeous Australian Terrier. He is around 10 yrs. old and weighs about 20 lbs. He is calm and is an obvious indoor lapdog. He appears to have been trained with potty pads. He's affectionate, loves to be snuggled and to sleep near his owner. He definitely prefers to be the 'king of the house', though, and is therefore best suited for a family with NO other dogs and NO small children. Considering his recent unfortunate experience, it's understandable that he is dealing with abandonment issues with which he will need continued training. While at SASDR he underwent a thorough medical exam which included a full blood workup and an anesthesia procedure to examine his ears which were completely swollen shut. Antibiotics eventually cleared them, however, and he was given a good health report. The Adoption Fee for RIVER is $375 and it includes neuter, up-to-date vaccines, blood panel, ear surgical exam, and grooming. Please NOTE that he is AVAILABLE for ADOPTION in CA ONLY!
