About Kelly

Kelly (about 1 and a half years old as of June, 2020) is a neutered male black tuxedo shorthaired cat. Kelly was found as a stray in Waukegan, where he would constantly try to barge into the local grocery store for shelter when the weather was bad. Despite his bold survival strategy Kelly is shy with new people, but thankfully very food motivated. He just loves treats! He takes some time to really warm up to people but once he does, he enjoys being pet and getting attention. He likes all sorts of toys but especially his beloved shoelaces which he delights in chasing all around. So far, he has gotten along great with other cats and we'd expect him to do well with other cats in a new home, but we haven't been able to try him with dogs so we would have to do a very slow trial run with a well-mannered and cat experienced dog. He would likely be fine with older kids but being on the shy side we wouldn't recommend him for a family with hyper little toddlers that might startle him and have trouble giving him space to get used to them.
