We believe Booker will need a fenced yard for the best success. Meet Booker. This big boy is a Doberman / Lab mix and weighs a whopping 100 pounds. He is about 1.5 years old. Here is what we know about Booker. When he was very young, he was taken in by a family for about 6-7 months. In that time, they brought him up to date on vetting, worked on crate training, and tried to acclimate their senior dog to a growing puppy. It just wasn't successful. Due to the issues with their older dog, they rehomed Booker to a new family who kept him for 6 months until they turned him in as a stray and watched him be loaded up by animal control and taken to the shelter. Poor Booker! Thanks to a microchip, we were able to contact his original family and get the story, but also hold the 2nd family accountable. There's a right way and a wrong way to do things. Booker is a goofy, happy-go-lucky boy. He takes a little bit of time to warm up to certain new people until he is comfortable. We feel he would do best in a fenced in yard. Like we mentioned before, Booker lived with a dog several months back, but probably still needs to work on learning how to properly socialize with other dogs. He's now a big puppy that is VERY excited to meet new dogs and he doesn't realize how big he is. Booker has not had experience with cats or young children. We would recommend older children for this pup. Booker is crate trained and house trained. He is also neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
