The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be house and leash trained. Most have never lived in house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Coco and I am a very sweet Rat terrier baby who has some special needs. I was born 4/6/20 and I weigh 5 pounds. I was born with a condition called Hydrocephaly which means the bones in my head did not close properly. As a result, I have a little neurological problem with my back legs so may never walk 'normally' but it doesn't slow me down one bit. I must also be very careful not to injure my head which could be very bad for me. I must have a quiet home with a small, young sibling to play with because I live to play! Absolutely no children which could hurt me, and a permanent, full-time parent is essential. I was so lucky that my breeder released me to B.R.A.S. because most babies who are born like me, are simply put down but B.R.A.S. gave me a chance and I am living life to the fullest! I will need periodic testing to see how I'm doing but I like the Dogtor!
