About Prince Luca (west)

I am about 4 years old, and I have been at the shelter since August 2, 2020. Luca is scheduled for euthanasia in the next couple of days unless we find a foster for him. Prince Luca had lived with his former owner for over a year- possibly most of his young life. He has been said to have resource guarding issues- this means he doesn't like someone grabbing a bone or toy out of his mouth. A child in the home grabbed a bone from his mouth and Prince Luca bit her arm. This is no reason to end his young life!!! Structure and training can correct this behavior. There are many wonderful qualities about Prince Luca. His former owners say that he knows the word 'gentle' means to take a treat gently from someone's hand. He also knows 'sit' and 'stop'. After sweet Prince gets to know you, he enjoys pets and may lean into you for affection. Prince Luca coexisted with other dogs in his doggy evaluation. He was calm and tolerant of the other dogs. Please consider adopting or at least fostering Prince Luca.
