About Stella

We recently took Stella, a house trained 4 year old, 50 lb Shepherd/Husky mix, back into the rescue after she was adopted about 2 years ago. Sadly, she wasn't a good fit in her former home and spent most of her day languishing in a crate. ��%BD��%BD��%BD��%BD ��%BD%A0We're VERY happy to say that Stella's Long Island foster mom says she is nothing short of perfection. She says, 'Stella is such a sweet girl who has shown us nothing but love! She's VERY sweet, loves giving kisses, sleeps quietly all through the night, crate trained, is great on a leash and really enjoys taking walks and hiking. ��%BD%A0I honestly haven't had her in crate at all. She sleeps on my bed and doesn't move a muscle or make any noise all night long. She's a gentle and mellow dog.' ��%BD%A0Stella and the other pup in her former home got into a few fights, but we truly don't know which dog instigated the conflicts. Because of this, ��%BD%A0for now we are keeping her as an only dog, although we haven't seen any dog reactivity on our end thus far. We think kids who are old enough to treat a dog properly would also be fine. She was put on Prozac by her previous owner, and as she adjusts, we are going to wean her down. This gorgeous girl REALLY deserves a home where she will be loved and spoiled forever. Stella is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and her adoption fee is $375.
