About Tilly

Tilly is a very young coonhound terrier mix. My family adopted her a shelter when she was four months old. When taking in my other dog into meet her for the first time the meeting went very well. He is almost 6yrs of age. He has always been very well mannered especially with her. She has never had to fight for her food but scarfs it down as soon as she gets it. Then she would sneak up and attack my other dog for food. So I had to separate them. I would make her sit and wait for her food which seemed to help with patience. She started to become agressive with me and I think as the dominate one since I am at home all the time with a daycare she has a struggle with knowing who is the alpha. She is fine with my husband. She is weary of other men but warms up to them. I have two small children and kids at my house all day. She wants to play with the kids so bad, but she get more and more excited and playful that turns into hurting the kids. She has a fenced in back yard and goes for walks, but she likes to escape. Wondering if maybe a farm or a house with a lot of land for her to run would be good. She always comes back. I think she just likes to explore. I am just worried that she is going to get so anxious or aggressive she will really hurt my kids, my neighbor kids or daycare kids. She can be very loving. Which is why this is very hard for me. I want to save her life by getting her a better home that may not be so high energized all the time. She has medicine for her ears as she has been having issues and wont allow me to put stuff in without getting upset and wanting to bite me. Along with bathing and clipping her nails. She needs a good loving home to make her the only one getting attention. She deserves that. I hope someone can love her the way that I have tried and have not be successful with.
