Avery 2 Years Old Fawn Female 53 Lbs Needs a home with a male dog No cats Working on Leash Manners Basic Obedience Skills House Trained Crate Trained No young children Fostered in Clyde Hill, WA Hi there! My name is Avery. I cannot wait to go to my forever home and shower my new family with love and loyalty. I hope I can have a little yard to play in, but I am pretty happy just chilling. If you are working or schooling from home right now, I will be your faithful companion. I love to lay in the room you are in and not cause any trouble. I can't tell you how much I love chewing on bones. They are the best things ever! Much better than the shoes I took out to the yard before I knew better. I can sit quietly for an hour just chewing on my bully stick or rope toy. Mom says chewing is my superpower. I have a pretty strong nose too! It helps me track when bunnies have walked in the back yard and where other dogs have marked in the neighborhood. Stairs were scary at first, but once I saw my scrawny foster brother do them, I learned pretty quickly. I love to share toys with my foster brother boxer and in general have a little bit of playful rough housing to get out my energy. I do play pretty rough, but only because I don't know any better yet. After 15-20 minutes though, I'm ready for another nap. If you're looking for someone to tell you how beautiful you are in the morning and have a morning snuggle, I'm the pup for you. If you are so inclined, I love to have my belly rubbed. If you do this for me, I will love you forever. I'm still learning to love my crate but I'm starting to see it as a hang out space with the door open during the day. At night, I just communicate to my Mom and Dad that I would rather be with them for a few minutes before I crash for the night. I would never think of having an accident in the house or crate, but if you leave a blanket in my crate, I may chew it to let you know I'd rather be with you. Notes from foster Mom- Avery is the real deal. I am so impressed that she hasn't had a single potty accident. I can tell she is very intelligent. She is treat motivated and easy to train. She responds well to positive correction. She has learned 'sit', lie 'down' and 'come' in such a short time. With more training this dog could showcase some amazing skills. I'm hoping she finds her forever home quickly as I can't stand the thought of her being sad about losing her bond with our family. This girl is a real gem. She doesn't have bad habits. No scratching doors, no jumping up, no begging, no jumping up to see what is on the counter. The one thing to watch is her need to chew. With no other choices, she will grab a sock and have a hole in it in seconds flat. We do think she would do best in a home with a male dog as a companion, so that she has a friend to hang out with. If you are looking for an amazing addition to your family, this is the girl for you! Bit.ly/WHBRadopt
