About LULA

Welcome LULA! She is 8 mo, about 35 lbs, very cute heeler/border collie mix. Lula's family was faced with landlord issues that they tried very hard to find a solution to, but ultimately were forced to find another home for Lula. We've only had her for a short time, but she is quite good on a leash but does have some leash reactivity usually because she wants to play, she was easily crate trained, she did great riding seat-belted in the car. Lula was introduced to the house dog, Toodles, who is initiating her into the world of proper dog greetings and play, and she responded quickly to both dog and human corrections. Over-all, she's a pretty well-rounded little girl, with puppy exuberance, needs more experience on greeting dogs on leash, has some skittishness to loud noises and sudden movements, a personality similar to a border collie. On her walk she was laying down with a short crawl into 'place position' when she saw another dog coming her way which is very border collie behavior. Lula would do best in a home with someone that has herder experience, with a safely fenced yard, someone who enjoys outdoor exercise such as long walks and runs, and has the time and ability to give Lula the training and exercise she needs. Because Lula can play rough and has puppy mouthy behavior, young children are not recommended.
