About Apple

This sweet girl is named Apple. She came to our rescue from New Mexico when a Good Samaritan rescued her from a ditch by a highway with her 13 puppies. Yes... she was nursing 13 puppies with little to no food and water for herself. They were around 4-5 weeks when we got them, so imagine what this poor mom has been through. All are alive, healthy and happy in their new homes. NOW it's Apple's turn to get a good home and get pampered like she pampered her babies. We think she is around 2 or 3 but not totally sure. She is sweet and calm, but likes to also do zoomies around the yard. She was the BEST mom and is so protective over her babies. You can tell that she is smart and a fighter. She was very thin when she came into our rescue and is starting to gain weight nicely. We are working at introducing her to other dogs her age now that she is an empty nester, but she is selective about who she likes. She will need someone to commit to working with her and teaching her how to trust. She is hyper vigilant about her safety and must go to a home that understands that she may take a while before she gets comfortable in her surroundings. She loves women but takes a minute to warm up to men, once she warms up she loves anyone that she knows is nice. She knows sit, and is potty trained. Apple would be a great companion for hiking and is very good on walks both on and off leash. She loves toys and to round up all of her fosters slippers and shoes, not to chew on but just to have in her crate with her. She would love to be around someone to love on her and give the attention she hasn't had before. She just has to learn that she can trust you and then she is yours. As her foster mom, she has stollen my heart in a very short amount of time. She will be loyal and loving to anyone willing to give her a second chance on life.
