About Marsha

Plott / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hi I'm Marsha! I've had a 'ruff' life so far, but you'd never know that from my personality. When my foster parents took me in I had heartworms and a hip problem. Over the past 3 months I've adjusted to a new home, gotten spayed, had my back leg amputated, and receive heartworm treatment! Phew, it was a lot to deal with, but I was such a good sport the whole time; I never stopped wagging my tail or snuggling. I am now fully adjusted, healed and HEALTHY!. I'm excited to find my new forever home. I love all people and I LOVE playing with my foster siblings, but I think I might be a little rough for my tiny toy poodle foster brother%BD'%BD| he doesn't like when I try to wrestle with him, but the mastiff loves it. My foster parents have spoiled me a little because of everything I've been through, but they have been working with me on my manners. I used to paw and nibble at everyone for attention, which wasn't super fun for the little kids or little dogs around me, but I'm getting really good at controlling my impulses. Now I mostly just sit and wait patiently and wiggle my whole body until you give me the pets. I can still get a little 'paws on' when I'm really excited, but only because I love attention and cuddles so much; I don't have an aggressive or mean bone in my body. I'm used to sleeping in a bed and on the couches so I'm not crate trained, but I am house broken. I'm not overly energetic physically, but I'm very social and smart so I need attention and stimulation during the day or I can get restless. I would do best in a house with other dogs or where people are around a lot, or, even better- with both! I'm about 3 years old and I weigh 30 pounds so I'm the perfect size to snuggle with (which if you haven't noticed yet, is my favorite thing to do!). If you're looking for a sweet, snuggly, outgoing friend with a lot of personality to brighten up this crazy year, I'd love to meet you! PS- I've heard that dogs with 3 legs are lucky too! Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
