The shelter staff desperately needed her out of the shelter environment and we were able to get her placed into an experienced foster home. Since being in foster, Bindi has settled in nicely. She seems to love people and affection and she will roll over for belly rubs and gives kisses. She is very playful, she likes her toys and will play fetch, albeit not for long. Bindi has an understanding of basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and paw that she obeys almost always. 'Come' is a challenge still. She will take food from your hand so delicately you will wonder if she has any teeth. She does not 'rush' the door unless she knows she is going out. She jumps into vehicles without hesitation and seems to be rather brave and curious. Bindi has been introduced to certain farm animals. Her prey drive is activated by chickens, but she seems to be getting used to the idea that they are not for eating. She has also been introduced to horses. Bindi was a bit intimidated, but also curious and voluntarily approached to sniff and be sniffed. She shows no sign of aggression toward other animals. Meet and greets with existing animals in the home would be necessary. Bindi would do best in an adult only home or a home with adult children. She will need a calm home to continue giving her the confidence and engagement she needs.
